Dr. Saad Nasser was born in El Sharkia Governorate Egypt. He is a holder of B.Sc, M.Sc. and Ph.D in Agricultural Economics and fellowship of the Economic Development Institute of the World Bank (IBRD). Since graduation from the faculty of Agriculture Ain Shams University in 163, he has assumed successive teaching positions at Ain Shams, Menya and Cairo Universities up to professorship in Agricultural Economics. In 1982 he was appointed to the position of Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, Fayoum Branch. He has served as Dean for 14 years and was appointed by Presidential Decree as President of the Agricultural Research Center in 1996. In 2004 he was appointed as Professor of Agricultural Economics at Cairo University. To date he has supervised 69 dissertations and has published 142 research articles in scientific magazines.
In 1990s he acted as Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, a role he is still in today. He also chaired the national team appointed by the Ministry to formulate Egypt’s “Strategy for Agricultural Development in the 1990s” and the “Strategy for Agricultural Development Up To 2017”.
